Monologue I - The Dance
Written by Hirbod HumanThe night is young.
I’m waiting behind the closed door.
I hear your footsteps, coming too close and going too far.
I close my eyes, the music is on, we dance in the dark.
The door is open. I’m already inside.
The place is empty like my life.
You know all your moves, you know your song.
I’m no stranger to the dance, no stranger to love.
You sing like a loud bird in the dark.
You float like a butterfly.
Love flows through my veins, turn the blood into wine.
I’m drunk off your love.
You whisper in my ear “Hold me tight in your arms”.
There is a fire between us.
It melts you down in my arms.
I don’t remember who I was.
My memories are all gone.
There are no secrets between us.
I read your moves, you read mine.
I smell the sense of the rain, you smell love.
I listen to your heart, you listen to mine.
The music is loud. The room is dark.
I stand to leave, my time is up.
You want me to stay.
It is Wednesday night.
